We are going to be starting subtraction over the next few days.
This is a very hard mathematical operation for kids.
You need to practice very hard. Remember subtraction mean "take away". Think about it using apples.
I have 3 apples. I give 2 apples to Bob. How many apples do I have left?
Will the number of apples I have get bigger or smaller?
3 - 2 = ____

Congratulations Grade One!!!!!
We finally earned our movie and treats. We have been working on filling up our "bean jar" for about 4 months. We have earned beans for using good listening skills.
We watched Lilo and Stitch, ( A great movie about families) and had popcorn!
Great Job Grade One! Let's keep earning beans, so we can earn another movie and treat day.

Another fun day in Grade One!
We had French today. We continued to work on learning our French food words. We are getting very good.

Hi Parents! Your child brought home a Math Homework Book yesterday. Please make sure that your child is doing 1-2 pages a night. Please return this book back to school every Tuesday. I will mark what your child has finished, then return the book on Wednesday.
